Summer HAF Activity Club: July & August 2024

PLEASE NOTE: This project is part of the Holiday Activities & Food (HAF) Programme, for young people in Westminster and Kensington & Chelsea who are eligible for benefits-related Free School Meals. Snacks and lunch will be provided.

This summer holiday the Floating Classroom is offering two 4-day activity clubs on board our wide-beam canal barge in Paddington for children aged 8-11 over 2 weeks in late July and August.

Activities will include:

Boat trips on the Floating Classroom
Kayaking on the canal
Puppetry workshop
Storytelling workshop
Bowling
Screen-Printing

Children can sign-up for both weeks of the club, but some activities (kayaking and indoor climbing) will take place both weeks.

The Floating Classroom Summer HAF Activity Club will take place from 11am - 3pm on the Floating Classroom in Paddington on:

This activity is for children who are eligible and registered for free school meals.

Healthy, cost-free snacks and lunch will be provided.

Children’s Free School Meals eligibility will be checked by the council before the club begins, so please make sure your child is registered. If inaccurate information has been provided we may have to cancel your child’s place at the club.

Places are limited, and priority will be given to children who are able to attend a full 4-day week of the club.

Sharing information with the council

We will be sharing a limited amount of data with Westminster City Council as part of the monitoring requirements for this programme. This information will include your child’s date of birth, school and full name. This information will be matched with school census information to monitor eligibility and reach of the Holiday and Activity Fund Programme. Photo Consent

Occasionally, we take photos during the activities we run. We would be grateful for your permission to take photos of your child and use these in our printed and online publicity for the Floating Classroom. This might include (but is not limited to) our printed and online publicity, social media, press releases and funding applications. You are not required to provide photo consent, and we will ensure that no images of your child are stored or used by the charity if you do not provide your consent.

I grant The Floating Classroom and The Puppet Theatre Barge full rights to use the images resulting from the photography of my child, and any reproductions or adaptations of the images for fundraising, publicity or other purposes to help achieve the charity’s aims.
