We Like Why: After-School Science Club

We Like Why is an out-of-school science project for children in Year 3 and 4 delivered in collaboration with Westminster Children's University. Over the course of 10 after-school sessions children will learn about Environmental Studies, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Human Biology, and Human Geography through hands-on, interactive experiences on board the Floating Classroom and in the local area. Learning is supported by a 'Home Play' activity each week to help attendees to continue learning and to have fun with their new knowledge.

Alongside the After-School Club, 3 Family Fun Days (at the start, midpoint, and end of the programme) provide an opportunity for participants' parents to share in the experience and encourage involvement from the outset.

By taking part in this project children will earn credits that will contribute towards the opportunity to graduate from the Westminster Children's University, rewarding them for the additional activities they have participated in during the school year.
